Bust Of Tesla To Be Permanently Installed At the Franklin Institute, Discussions Underway For Technical, Trade And Cultural Exchanges Involving Philadelphia, Serbia And Srpska

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – June 28, 2014 – Frank Taney, principal of Taney Legal LLC, in his capacity as Vice President – Legal Affairs of the Tesla Science Foundation, arranged for the donation, dedication and installation of a monument to the late, great Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla at the Franklin Institute at a ceremony conducted at the Franklin Institute on June 27, 2014.

Tesla delivered an important scientific address on electromagnetism at the Franklin Institute in 1893, and received the Institute’s highest award for science that same year.  The Tesla Science Foundation donated the statue on behalf of the peoples of the Republics of Serbia and Srpska.  Speakers at the event included the outgoing and incoming presidents of the Franklin Institute, Philadelphia City Councilman David Oh, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, and the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia, among others.

In addition, as a result of the introductions and relationships formed as a result of the event, discussions have begun between the City of Philadelphia and the Republics of Serbia and Srpska with the goal of establishing programs of technical, trade and cultural exchange.
